Tuesday Morning Tidy: Wrapping Paper Supplies and Themes

I've always wanted to have beautifully coordinated holiday packaging, and this year I'm determined to make it happen, but in a way that actually helps me simplify!

What usually happens is that I think I'm well stocked on gift bags or boxes from previous years, and I just grab tissue and a roll or two of wrapping paper. By the time I get halfway through gift wrapping, I realize I've severely underestimated my needs, and I run to the store to find shelves that are picked over. This results in gifts in the wrong sized bag or a kid themed tag on an adult's gift. When I spend a lot of time picking out just the right gift for someone, I want the packaging to also show how much I/we care.

By picking one theme, I can easily grab one roll of paper, a spool or two of ribbon, and any bags or tissue that will coordinate. Also, by doing an inventory of my wrapping supplies today, I'm sure to have everything I need!

Here are some possible wrapping themes for the upcoming holiday season:

Blackwatch Plaid

Winter Shimmer

Rustic Christmas

Target always has some coordinated sets as well, and if you shop online, they are still really well stocked! Don't forget all of your extra supplies, like tape, small notecards to hold gift cards, shirt boxes and sharp scissors.

When you are all finished, feel free to add little embellishments like small ornaments, greenery or pretty candy. Or, treat yourself to a glass of wine and a late night viewing of Love Actually!
