Monday Musings: Give Yourself a Break!

We spend a lot of time on this blog (and in our lives) focused on organization and planning ahead. But this weekend was slow and unstructured, and it was just what our family needed. It was a good reminder that sometimes we all need a break.



Certain things, like prepping healthy snacks or lunches, help save time and energy during the hectic week ahead. Our houses do in fact need to be tidied and cleaned pretty frequently, or things quickly spiral out of control. However, it's just not the end of the world to step back and take it easy sometimes. If you're exhausted and feeling the weight of doing it all, maybe try...


  • ...grabbing a quick latte at Starbucks (and go for the extra pump of syrup)

  • ...take-out dinner; skip cooking for a night!

  • ...getting the groceries delivered once in a while, just so you can take a walk (or a long shower).

  • ...leaving the laundry in the basket. As long as it's clean and folded, everyone will have clothes to wear. It can be put away another day!

  • ...putting your hair in a ponytail or bun--it does not always have to be styled.


The point is, give yourself a break! And enjoy it--don't spend that time feeling like you didn't do enough. I'm certain you deserve it.
