Monday Musings: Memorial Day

Today is a day we can all come together to honor. We can cross divides, aisles and other ideological barriers to agree that those who have lost their lives protecting our country deserve our respect.

Many of us who are mothers today have friends and parents who served in the Middle East or Vietnam, and grandparents who fought in WWII. Personally, I can say that my grandfather literally fought to save the world and basic human rights for millions.

Some of you moms served yourself! You sacrificed and overcame challenges I cannot claim to understand, but we appreciate you.

Today I get to enjoy the sunshine and families around me, but right now I'm taking a moment to acknowledge all those who lost so much. Thank you.
