Monday Musings: Ready, Set, Go!

The calendar flips to August, and an internal switch instantly screams "hurry up and get ready!"

Our kids don't start school for several weeks, but maybe it's the handful of principal emails I've received in the last few days. Or maybe it's the fall sports practices starting and the parent meetings to lay out the season ahead.

The irony is that while I love fall, and I am looking forward to routines, I am not ready to leave summer behind just yet. I'm still enjoying the pool, and the breezy evenings have made it that much nicer lately. My summer annuals are still thriving, and I'm enjoying the pop of pink! I haven't tired of anything just yet this summer.

So, while my brain is reminding me I still need to pick up school supplies, my feet are still firmly planted in summer. Just a few more weeks of this magical time of year, and I'm not wishing away a moment.
