Reflecting on five years of And She Writes, I can't help but list my 2023 '90s reflection piece as one of my favorite posts. Recently, my husband and I watched Netflix's documentary, Trainwreck: Woodstock 1999, and it brought back loads of memories. I was overwhelmed with '90s nostalgia— popular MTV personalities, an eclectic group of chart-topping musicians, rebellous fashion, mosh pits and so much more.

The summer of 1999 was the bridge between my junior and senior year. It was one of the most memorable summers of my life—cruising around town with friends and then spontaneously meeting up with a group (before the era of cell phones), renting a movie at Blockbuster, watching American Pie for the first time in the theater and attending field parties. We had so much to look forward to, especially our upcoming senior year. My oldest graduated from high school in May so my own high school memories land a bit differently now.

As I mentioned in my post two years ago, Chuck Klosterman's The Nineties (my brief review is here) visits the ten years and and I highly recommend the book. It helped me recall the many quirky and interesting aspects of the decade. As a proud '90s teen, I lived through what seems like a much simpler time. As if, there could be a better decade!
