Monday Musings: School Year Preparations

Well, it's time to accept that summer is winding down. My kids start school this week. I feel prepared as best as I can be. For the first time in more than a decade, I don't have a child in elementary school. Supplies lists were shorter, which means purchasing an overwhelming number of crayons, construction paper, glue sticks and glue bottles is behind us. It's a bit surreal.

As I embark on this new phase, my back-to-school shopping looked a little different this year. But, I think any parent can use the items below to stay organized and prepared for the next 9 months!

Label Maker - This tiny and handy label maker has been fun for personalizing folders, notebooks, bathroom items, etc. You can also buy label refills on Amazon.

Closet Organization - We completed a good amount of clothes and shoe shopping to prepare for summer activities and back-to-school. My children are responsible for putting their clean clothes away after we finish laundry. These are my favorite velvet hangers and are easy-to-use. I also purchased a shoe rack for one of my children.

I invested in small organizational baskets for each child for them to use in any way they need them. They're used for under bed storage as well as for their closets and bathroom.

School Supplies - My kids purchased a great Northface backpack, a Kate Spade lunch pal and fun pencil cases.

Hope this list helps you stay organized and feel prepared for the 2023-2024 school year!
