I'm giving all the credit for today's post to Gretchen Rubin and The Happier Podcast. I'd actually taken a little podcast break, opting for audiobooks recently. However, in catching up on episodes this week, I caught a conversation about travel prep. More specifically, they made a great recommendation to read books set in or about your upcoming or recent travel destination.
Our next trip is to Minnesota so I put together a short reading list of books set in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Freedom by Jonathan Frandsen
On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder
The Lager Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal
There is a huge list on Goodreads if you do a search like this for any of your trips. I'm sure it enriches the experience of traveling to a new or favorite place. I could also see this being fun during the depths of winter if you're reading about a tropical locale!
Also, on a recent episode, they discussed The Curated Closet and the accompanying workbook by Anuschka Rees. I ordered a copy! In my continued cultivation of a capsule wardrobe, I thought it would be a fun project during downtime.
