What I'm Loving: Purple

About a year ago, we concluded that we needed a new mattress. While I was perfectly happy with our "My Green Mattress," my husband was not. It just wasn't comfortable for him. Furthermore, we wanted to add some storage to our room with a new bed frame that included drawers underneath, and we figured a King would provide more storage.

Once in the market for a new mattress, we asked around. Several people raved about their Purple mattresses, including some who had purchased theirs' years earlier and still found it to be comfortable.

I wasn't willing to compromise on our health, and I knew from my previous research that are a lot of bad chemicals in mattresses. But Purple is CertiPUR-US and low VOC. It may not be quite as clean as the My Green Mattress, I felt like it was a reasonable compromise so my husband could have the health benefits of a good night's sleep.

We waited for a holiday discount and ordered the basic Purple mattress in a King size. When it arrived, we had quite a time getting it up our staircase, but I think a Queen or smaller would have been no problem. The king was heavy!

This is truly the best bed. Our kids think it's amazing, and the grid-style mattress has held up to nearly a year of sleeps, with no decrease in comfort. While it's very soft, you don't experience the sinking sensation of a memory foam, so it's a great solution for partners who prefer or need different levels of firmness in a mattress.

We love it so much, we splurged for the Purple pillows too, which feature adjustable amounts of the softest, fluffiest filling. We're sleeping well with our Purple bed and accessories!
