Everyone's lowest priority room in the house...the Master Bedroom. Even though we spend about eight hours a day in this space, most of it is sleeping! So, while our mattress and bed frame are both fairly new, we have a variety of other updates that always fall to the bottom of the list.
Clear, clean and repair. Identify any materials needed in advance to make this possible.
Assess how we use the space for making improvements.
Identify ways to maintain it more easily going forward.
I'll need just a handful of supplies for sprucing up the space:
carpet cleaner
duster
Clear
I'm going to take all the items off the bookshelf in this room and sort them. There are definitely books that need to be donated or shared with friends. I'll also take this time to go through the master closet and my dresser to move some of the summer items into another space and donate anything I didn't wear in the last year.
Clean
This is the dustiest room in the house, so that will be a main focus of the cleaning. While the bookshelf is empty and the closet is cleared, I'll vacuum and dust. After I dust the ceiling fan and shutters, I'll deep clean the carpet with the rake and carpet cleaner. I'll also wipe down every surface with a microfiber cloth.
Repairs
I'll do a few paint touchups in this space before moving on to the organizing stage.
I have a few updates for this space to pull it together a bit better and maybe even tackle some of that dust! Check back in two weeks.
