Tuesday Morning Tidy from Samantha: Angel Food Cake & Berries Dessert
If you're you're looking for a light and fresh dessert that's quick to prepare and not loaded with calories, you'll love my Angel Food Cake & Berries recipe. It's also a festive red, white and blue dish for your 4th of July festivities.
1 baked angel food cake (pre-made or prepared from a box)
1 carton of fresh strawberries (washed and sliced)
1 small carton of fresh blueberries (washed)
1 tub of Cool Whip
Step 1: Cut the angel food cake into 3/4 - 1 inch cubes and place into a large bowl.
Step 2 (right before serving): Scoop all of the Cool Whip into the bowl and coat the cake. (I prefer to use a rubber spatula.)
Step 3: Keep a small amount of sliced strawberries and blueberries to the side.
Step 4: Place the remainder of the fresh fruit in the bowl and mix with the cake and Cool Whip.
Step 5: Serve the dessert and top with a few fresh berries.
Serves 6-8 adults.
